Nikki's Crispy Chicken Cheeseburger with Honey Mustard Sauce

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 6 burger buns
  • 600 g chicken breast fillet(s)
  • Iceberg lettuce or lettuce, some shredded cheese
  • 300 g mozzarella, sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 onion(s), red, cut into fine rings
  • Honey mustard sauce
  • mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp chili sauce
  • 1 tsp, levelled honey
  • Paprika powder
  • pepper, black
  • Cayenne pepper
  • curry
  • nutmeg
  • Thyme
  • rosemary
  • some flour
  • 1 egg(s)
  • Cornflakes without sugar and slightly crushed
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 3 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 3 hours 45 minutes

Simple, quick and very tasty!

First, take the chicken breast fillets and remove any fat, tendons, and unsightly bits. Then, marinate the fillets in a bowl. For the marinade, mix the soy sauce with chili sauce, ketchup, and honey, then add a pinch each of pepper, paprika, cayenne pepper, curry powder, thyme, and rosemary. Massage the marinade thoroughly into the meat and let it soak in for a few hours, preferably overnight. This will give the meat an extra delicate flavor and make it more tender. Coat the meat in flour, then in the beaten egg, and finally in the cornflakes, then fry or deep-fry in plenty of oil. Cut open the buns and briefly place them in the oven to crisp up. Top the burgers in any order you like with crispy chicken breast fillet, iceberg lettuce, honey mustard sauce, mayonnaise, mozzarella, tomatoes, and onions. Enjoy!
