Nonnenpfürzle with Vanilla Sauce

Nun’s Puffs

  • 500 g Flour
  • 30 g Yeast
  • 60 g Sugar
  • 250 ml Milk
  • 60 g Butter
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 4 piece Eggs
  • 100 g Sultanas
  • 5 g Lemon peel
  • Shortening (vegetable fat)

  • 1 packet Vanilla icecream
  • Whipped cream
  • Mint leaves

Nun’s Puffs

  1. Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well in the middle. Crumble the yeast and pour it into the well. Add a teaspoon of sugar and lukewarm milk and mix with a little flour to form a dough. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30 to 40 minutes. Mix the dough with the remaining ingredients into a loose yeast dough and let it rise for another 40 minutes. Lift pieces out of the dough with a spoon and bake in hot fat until golden brown.

  1. Let the vanilla ice cream melt and stir in the cream. Decorate the vanilla sauce obtained in small cups or pour it over the Nonnenfürzle. Finally, decorate with a mint leaf.
