Nonnenpfürzle with Vanilla Sauce
The perfect nonnenpfürzle with vanilla sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
Nun’s Puffs
- 500 g Flour
- 30 g Yeast
- 60 g Sugar
- 250 ml Milk
- 60 g Butter
- 1 pinch Salt
- 4 piece Eggs
- 100 g Sultanas
- 5 g Lemon peel
- Shortening (vegetable fat)

- 1 packet Vanilla icecream
- Whipped cream
- Mint leaves
Nun’s Puffs
- Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well in the middle. Crumble the yeast and pour it into the well. Add a teaspoon of sugar and lukewarm milk and mix with a little flour to form a dough. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30 to 40 minutes. Mix the dough with the remaining ingredients into a loose yeast dough and let it rise for another 40 minutes. Lift pieces out of the dough with a spoon and bake in hot fat until golden brown.

- Let the vanilla ice cream melt and stir in the cream. Decorate the vanilla sauce obtained in small cups or pour it over the Nonnenfürzle. Finally, decorate with a mint leaf.
