Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 250 g apples, sour
  • 250 g onion(s)
  • 1 small jar of cucumber(s) – sweet and sour bites
  • 5 fish fillets (matjes fillet)
  • Whipped cream, to taste

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Total time approx. 12 hours 20 minutes

Mix mayonnaise with sugar. Core the apples and cut them into pieces without peeling them. Dice the onion. Cut the cucumber into bite-sized pieces. Cut the herring fillets into strips and mix everything together. Thin slightly with whipped cream if desired and let it sit overnight. Serve with boiled or boiled potatoes.
