Nougat pistachio balls

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 400 g nougat
  • 300 g flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 100 g butter
  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 50 g dark chocolate coating
  • 25 g pistachios, chopped

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 50 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 12 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 2 minutes

with a delicious nougat core, makes 50 pieces.

Cut 200g of nougat into very small pieces. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and vanilla sugar. Add the nougat, butter, and egg to the flour mixture and knead into a smooth dough. Divide the dough into 4 portions, wrap in foil, and chill for 30 minutes. Cut 200g of nougat into 50 pieces and chill. Briefly knead each portion of dough one after the other and form into rolls. Cut 12-13 pieces per roll. Flatten each piece of dough slightly in your hand. Place 1 nougat piece on top, wrap it in the dough, and shape it into a ball. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (convection oven) for about 12 minutes. Remove the balls and let them cool. Melt the chocolate coating in a warm water bath and spoon it over the nougat balls several times. Sprinkle chopped pistachios on the still-warm chocolate strips.
