Nut staler

Sift the flour to make it lighter. Then knead the dough with the remaining ingredients. Form the dough into 3 cm thick rolls. Place the finished rolls on a tray or similar, cover with foil, and let them rest in the refrigerator overnight. The next day, cut the dough rolls into 0.5 cm thick slices. Line a baking sheet with baking paper and arrange the dough slices on it. Brush the dough slices with egg yolk and decorate each slice with 1/2 a nut. Bake in a preheated oven on the middle rack at 175°C (top/bottom heat) until golden brown. Let the finished cookies cool and then place them in jars or tins. Tip: They make a great gift—not just for Christmas!
