Harry Potter's Butterbeer

Spread the love

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 liter ginger ale
  • 500 ml apple juice
  • 50 ml water
  • 2 tbsp syrup (caramel syrup)
  • 2 small bottles of butter-vanilla flavoring
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 3 carnations
  • 2 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • e.g. cream (spray cream)
  • e.g. syrup (caramel syrup)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Christmas market-tested

Bring ginger ale, apple juice, and water to a rolling boil. Let it boil for about 5 minutes to allow the carbonation to evaporate. Then add the caramel syrup, butter vanilla flavoring, cloves, vanilla bean, and cinnamon sticks and let it cool to about 80°C (not too hot, not too cold). Pour into a small beer glass, top with whipped cream for a “beer flower,” and finish with a little caramel syrup. It’s a completely different hot drink and tastes similar to what we had at the Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studios in England. It can also be enjoyed cold in the summer. We liked it better warm, though.
