Nut wreath with shortcrust pastry

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 125 g butter
  • 200 g hazelnuts, ground
  • 100 g sugar
  • 4 drops of bitter almond flavor
  • ½ egg yolk
  • 1 egg white
  • 8 tbsp water

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

First, knead the dough ingredients and chill to form a ball (shortcrust pastry). Then roll it out into a rectangle; be careful, as the dough will be sticky. Mix the filling ingredients and spread it on the shortcrust pastry. Roll the dough up and form a wreath. Brush with the remaining 1/2 egg yolk and a little milk, and make a few cuts. Bake at 175-200 degrees Celsius for 45 minutes. It tastes wonderfully crispy like cookies—something different and not at all dry. I got this recipe from a good friend and would like to share it with others. Perfect for the cold season and for Christmas.
