Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g buttermilk
  • 1 ½ cubes of yeast
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 400 g oats
  • 400 g wheat
  • 20 g oat flakes

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Wholemeal bread with buttermilk and yeast

Finely grind the oats and wheat. Heat the buttermilk to 30°C. Crumble the yeast into the buttermilk and add the honey. Add the buttermilk and salt to the grain. Knead vigorously for about 10 minutes. Grease a loaf pan and pour the dough into it. Let it rise for about 30 minutes. In the meantime, lightly toast the oats in a dry pan. Brush the risen dough with water and sprinkle with the oats. Bake at 220°C for 40-45 minutes. Remove from the pan and let cool.
