Onion-honey butter

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 handful of onion(s), frozen, roughly chopped
  • 1 tbsp honey, creamy
  • 200 g butter
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 hours; Total time approx. 5 hours 10 minutes

Place the onions in a bowl and stir in 1 tablespoon of honey. Let stand overnight (or for 4 to 5 hours) to form a liquid. Drain the liquid (save it if necessary). Then thoroughly mix the drained honey onions with the butter. Season with salt and pepper and refrigerate. Great for a snack or as a gift for family gatherings or parties! Of course, you can also use fresh onions, but I like to skip that sometimes. The drained juice makes a great cough suppressant.
