Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 onions
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 10 g butter
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup(s) vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cream
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

with stir-fried dishes, mushrooms, noodles, rice

Peel the onions and dice or slice them. Sauté them with the finely chopped garlic clove and the butter in the microwave at 650 watts for 3 minutes. Fry them in a nonstick frying pan without adding any additional fat until light brown. Deglaze with the stock, add the balsamic vinegar and sugar, and simmer for at least 5 minutes, until the onions are soft. Stir in the cream. Season with Worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper, and salt, if desired. Variation: Cook 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary with the sauce and remove before serving. You can also omit the cream; in this case, the onions should cook a little longer to achieve a light binding.
