Onion soup with cheese baguette

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 6 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 300 ml water
  • 200 ml dry white wine
  • e.g. vegetable broth, instant
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • 4 slices of baguette
  • 4 tbsp cheese (Emmental), grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Peel the onions and slice them into very thin rings. Melt the butter in a non-stick saucepan and gently sauté the onion rings until soft. Pour in the water and white wine, season with vegetable stock, salt, and pepper, and simmer for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, sprinkle the baguette slices with cheese and bake until the cheese melts. Then place the baguette slices on a plate and pour the finished soup over them.
