Onion – Steak – Pot

Spread the love

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 8 pork neck steaks or turkey schnitzel
  • 8 onions
  • Paprika powder
  • salt and pepper
  • 200 ml water or white wine

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Roman pot

Soak the Roman pot in water for at least 10 minutes. You can also prepare this dish in a casserole dish or roasting pan, etc. Thinly slice the onions. Season the meat with paprika, pepper, and salt. Alternate layers of onions and meat in the pot, finishing with a thick layer of onions (they’ll be deliciously crispy). Top with water/wine and bake in the oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for 1.5-2 hours (the cooking time depends on the thickness of the meat pieces and whether you’re using a Roman pot or casserole dish). Mashed potatoes go just as well with this as baguette.
