Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg onion(s)
  • 1 can tomato(s), (pizza tomatoes with chili)
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp paprika powder, hot
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • 1 pinch(s) of cayenne pepper
  • 1 pinch(s) cinnamon powder
  • 1 tbsp seasoned salt, Turkish, or granulated stock
  • 1 shot of rapeseed oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Peel the onions, slice them in half, and cut them lengthwise into 4 to 8 pieces (depending on their size). Brown the onions in hot oil in a large pan. Add the tomato pieces, season with the spices to taste, and cook with the lid on and reduce the heat to low until cooked through (your preference, firm to the bite or soft). Just before the end, stir in the tomato paste to thicken it.
