Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g margarine, vegan
  • 250 g flour
  • 175 g sugar
  • 50 g powdered sugar
  • 100 g hazelnuts, ground
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 1 orange(s), untreated, zest thereof
  • 1 pinch of salt

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 9 minutes; Total time approx. 39 minutes

Whisk the margarine with 75g of sugar and the salt until fluffy. Using a knife or spoon, scrape the seeds from the vanilla pod. Place the empty pod and the remaining sugar in a tin, close the lid, shake well, and let stand. Add the vanilla seeds, flour, hazelnuts, and orange zest to the margarine and knead together. Shape the dough into evenly sized croissants, place them on a baking sheet, and bake at 180°C (convection oven) for 8-10 minutes. Mix the vanilla sugar from the tin with the powdered sugar and roll the still-hot croissants in the powdered sugar.
