Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 6 large organic oranges
  • 2 large organic lemons
  • 1 liter of water
  • 2 kg sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours

no bitter jam

First things first: The preparation takes a total of 3 days. On the first day, wash the fruit in hot water, cut it into eighths, and chop it, including the skin, in a food processor. Mix it with the water and let it stand uncovered but covered with a kitchen towel for 24 hours. Then on the second day, simmer the mixture for 30 to 45 minutes. Remove from the heat, add the sugar, and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Let it stand for another 24 hours. On the third day, simmer for another 45 minutes until it sets. Either pour it into 10 prepared jars now, or, if necessary, chop it up a little more with a hand blender beforehand. Tip: If you like, you can add a little whiskey to the jam at the end to refine it.
