Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 oranges or lemons (organic)
  • n. B. water
  • 100 ml orange juice or lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 250 g sugar
  • 400 ml water
  • 200 g chocolate

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 35 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 55 minutes

candied and chocolate-covered orange or lemon peel

Halve the fruit, squeeze out the juice, and then halve the halves again. Blanch the quarters in boiling water for about a minute. Bring 100 ml of fruit juice to a boil with the sugar and 400 ml water. Add the peels and simmer over low heat for 1 1/2 hours. Drain and let dry on a wire rack for one hour. Scrape off the white inner skin and cut the peels into strips. Melt the chocolate, dip the strips with a (praline) fork, and let dry. Choose the chocolate according to your taste. I prefer dark chocolate, but citrus fruits also have a special appeal with white or milk chocolate.
