Orient Meatballs with Couscous

The perfect orient meatballs with couscous recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Meatballs:

  • 1 Chopped onion
  • 500 g Mixed minced meat (lamb / beef)
  • 1 tbsp Freshly chopped mint
  • 1 Egg
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Ground coriander
  • 1 pinch Ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp Oil

Couscous:

  • 200 ml Vegetable broth
  • 150 g Chunky tomatoes
  • 200 g Sheep cheese

For the meatballs

  1. Mix the minced meat, chopped onion, chopped mint, egg, breadcrumbs and the spices salt, pepper, coriander and cinnamon well and form small meatballs.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan and stir-fry the meatballs for about 10 minutes until crispy.

for the couscous

  1. Bring the vegetable stock and chunky tomatoes to a boil. Stir in the couscous. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it stand, covered, for approx. 5 minutes
  2. Crumble the sheep’s cheese and mix with the couscous
  3. Arrange couscous and meatballs on plates.
