Oriental baked potatoes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 700 g potatoes, half firm – half floury
  • Cumin (cumin)
  • salt and pepper
  • ½ tbsp oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

Peel the potatoes, cut into 1 cm thick slices and soak in water for 1 hour to allow the starch to settle. Then dry the potatoes and toss them in a bowl with just 1 1/2 cups of oil. Place the slices next to each other on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C on the middle rack for approx. 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through. Sprinkle the potatoes with cumin, salt and pepper just before serving. Yogurt with garlic and mint goes well with this. Tips: You can also make a mixture of cumin and salt. You can also omit the cumin and toss the potatoes with dried thyme or oregano (approx. 1 tbsp) before baking.
