Original GDR Solyanka
The perfect original gdr solyanka recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 75 g Strips of bacon
- 1 Pc. Onion
- 50 g Meat sausage
- 50 g Jagdwurst
- 100 g Smoked Mettwurst
- Oil
- 1 Pc. Red peppers
- 1 Pc. Carrot
- 4 Pc. Gherkins
- 50 g Tomato paste
- 30 g Paprika pulp
- 250 ml Cucumber water
- 1 l Beef broth
- 100 g Sauerkraut
- 1 tbsp Capers
- 1 Pc. Clove of garlic
- Pepper
- Salt
- 1 Pc. Bay leaf
- Sour cream
- Chop the bacon, sausages and onions and fry them lightly in a saucepan with a little oil.
- Dice the peppers, cut the carrot and pickles into thin slices and put everything in the saucepan. Add the paprika and tomato paste and let it caramelize while stirring.
- Add cucumber water and beef broth.
- Add the sauerkraut, capers, the finely chopped garlic, pepper and salt.
- Simmer a little with a bay leaf. Serve with a dollop of sour cream, sour cream or crème fraîche.
