Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 pack of feta cheese
  • 3 cherry tomatoes, optionally more
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • ½ onion(s)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • 2 tsp, heaped marjoram
  • 2 tsp, heaped oregano

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Quick dish, also great for grilling

First, thinly slice the cherry tomatoes, half the onion, and thinly slice the garlic. Spread out a piece of aluminum foil large enough to completely cover the feta. Arrange a bed in the center of the foil by stacking half the onions, garlic, and tomatoes on top of each other. Place the feta on top and garnish the cheese with the other half of the ingredients. If desired, scatter more cherry tomatoes around the cheese. Then mix the marinade with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, oregano, and marjoram. Fold up the aluminum foil around the sides of the cheese and spread the marinade evenly over the cheese. Finally, seal the foil over the cheese and let it rest for about half an hour. Finally, bake the cheese in the oven at 200°C for about 20-25 minutes. Tip: The cheese tastes delicious with pita bread and can also be grilled.
