Ingredients for 5 servings:
- 1 ½ kg potatoes
- 400 g bacon (rib bacon), smoked in one piece
- 4 apples
- salt and pepper

Grandma’s potatoes
Peel the potatoes and apples and cut into fairly small cubes. Remove any rind and gristle from the rib bacon and also cut into pieces. Again, make sure the pieces are not too small, as otherwise they will dry out and burn quickly. Arrange the apple and potato cubes and the rib bacon on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (convection oven) for 30-40 minutes, until the potatoes are browned and crispy on the outside. Be especially careful not to overcook the bacon. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve. Serve with fried eggs and pickled cucumbers.
