Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 350 g bread(s) (sweet pumpkin bread), approx. 2 – 3 days old
- 2 m.-sized apples
- 1 tbsp, heaped cinnamon sugar
- 1 tsp, leveled vanilla powder
- 1 tsp, leveled lemon zest
- 200 ml whipped cream
- 175 ml milk
- 3 eggs, size M
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla powder
- 2 tbsp almond flakes
- powdered sugar

Grease a baking dish (20 cm x 30 cm). Preheat oven to 190°C (top/bottom heat). First cut the bread into slices, then into cubes (approx. 1.5 cm x 1.5 cm). Place in a bowl. Peel, quarter, core, and dice the apples. Add the apples to the bread with the cinnamon sugar, lemon, and vanilla; mix well. Transfer to the baking dish and spread evenly. Whisk together the topping ingredients and pour evenly over the bread cubes, then sprinkle with flaked almonds. Place the dish on a rack in the center of the oven and bake for approximately 30 minutes until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar and serve while still lukewarm. Serve with vanilla sauce.
