Pepperoni pasta

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 onion(s), red
  • 1 tsp oregano, dried
  • 2 red bell peppers, baked, heaped, without seeds
  • 125 g sausage (pepperoni sausage)
  • 200 ml vegetable stock
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • 1 can tomatoes, chopped, approx. 400 g
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 300 g spaghetti, approx. 75 g per person
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 10 basil leaves, torn
  • 4 dashes of pepper sauce

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Dice the peppers and onions. Peel and crush the garlic. Cut the sausage lengthwise into 1.5 cm thick slices. Heat the olive oil in a pan. Sauté the onions in the heated oil for about 3 minutes. Add the garlic and oregano. After 2 minutes, add the sausage and fry for another 2 minutes. Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, paprika, sugar, broth, and pepper sauce and simmer for about 20 minutes. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Stir the basil into the sauce at the end and serve.
