Ovo Cookies

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 350 g flour
  • 150 g drink powder (Ovomaltine)
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
  • 200 g butter, cold
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 3 tbsp coffee cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

for all Ovomaltine lovers, makes about 60 pieces

Combine flour, Ovomaltine, sugar, and vanilla sugar in a bowl and mix. Add butter in small pieces. Quickly rub everything between your fingers until it forms an even, crumbly mixture. Add the egg and coffee cream and mix all ingredients well. Knead the dough briefly, but only until it holds together. It may need a little more liquid. Caution: if the dough is kneaded for too long, it will become tough. Chill the dough for 30 minutes, then roll out to a thickness of about 6 mm. Cut out cookies using the cookie cutters. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 8 minutes. Garnish the cooled Ovo cookies with icing, desiccated coconut, etc., as desired.
