filling
- 500 ml Milk
- 125 g Powdered sugar
- 1 packet Vanilla flavored cooking pudding powder
- 1 Vanilla pod
- 250 g Butter
- Strawberries
Decoration
- 1 Marzipan blanket
- 200 g Marzipan raw mass
- 100 g Powdered sugar
- 100 g Food coloring
Chocolate biscuit base
- I chose the Josina24 base (biscuit base chocolate) and baked it one day before further processing and wrapped it in aluminum foil.
filling
- The next day I made the buttercream.
- Remove some of the milk, stir in the pudding powder and the scraped out vanilla pod and bring the remaining milk to a boil, stir in the pudding powder and briefly bring to the boil.
- Now put some cling film on the pudding so that no skin forms and put everything in the cold.
- Once the pudding has cooled, stir the softened butter with the sifted powdered sugar and stir in the pudding, tablespoon at a time – pudding and butter must be at the same temperature !!!!
- Brush a little bit of the buttercream, put aside, stir the other with the mashed strawberries and a few small pieces
- Divide the cake base into 3 bases, put a cake ring around one cake base, spread the cream on top, put the second base on top, then a little more cream on top and the last cake base on top. Put the cake in the fridge for at least 2 hours
decoration
- Knead the marzipan with the sifted powdered sugar into a smooth mass and color it with various food colors – wear disposable gloves. I colored the brown with cocoa.
- Now roll out the marzipan between two sheets of baking paper and cut out the owl figure according to the template. I only had Ppier because the marzipan stuck. Then I took baking paper.
- Make flowers and leaves and put everything in the fridge – but not in the fridge !!!!
Completion
- Take the cake out of the refrigerator, remove the cake ring and coat the cake with the white buttercream all around.
- Now comes the difficult part, place a marzipan blanket on one side with a little overlap and pour it over the cake, press it with your hands or a smoother from above and then press it to the side-
- If a few wrinkles appear, it is not that bad because you can then add a few flowers
- Now just put the owl motif on the cake and put the flowers on the edge. If the flowers do not want to hold, brush them with a little water, so they stick quite well. We have put a few small owl candles on top.
- Now I hope that our daughter, who is a big owl fan, is happy about it, because there is a lot of effort and love in the cake
Conclusion
- MY DAUGHTER (31) HAS BEEN REALLY LOOKING FORWARD; 🙂
