Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 cube of yeast
  • 50 g sugar
  • 150 ml milk, lukewarm
  • 500 g flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 100 g butter, soft
  • 50 g syrup (Grafschafter Caramel Syrup)
  • 2 eggs
  • Milk
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes

Stir the yeast and sugar into the milk and let it rise for about 10-15 minutes. Sift the flour into a bowl. Pour the yeast milk into the well in the middle. Add the salt, vanilla sugar, butter, syrup, and eggs. Mix everything together until you have a smooth dough. Cover and let it rise until doubled in size. Knead the yeast dough again and let it rest for another 10 minutes. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Shape the dough pieces into rolls and twist them into pretzels. Place the pretzels on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, brush with milk, and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 20-25 minutes. The time depends on the size and thickness of the pretzels. Remove and let cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
