Pasta and broccoli casserole with bacon

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 350 g broccoli, frozen
  • 300 g penne, cooked
  • 250 ml milk
  • 250 ml water
  • 125 g bacon, diced
  • 1 tbsp margarine
  • 1 ½ tbsp flour
  • 4 slices of processed cheese
  • Broth powder
  • nutmeg
  • pepper
  • 200 g Gouda, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Place the cooked pasta in a baking dish and arrange the still-frozen broccoli florets on top. Melt the margarine in a saucepan and fry the bacon in it. Sprinkle with flour and whisk to combine. Then deglaze with the water and milk. Continue whisking. Melt the cheese spread in the sauce and season with bouillon powder, pepper, and nutmeg. Pour the sauce over the pasta and broccoli. Sprinkle with the Gouda cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
