Pasta Bake ‘Bolognese Style’
The perfect pasta bake ‘bolognese style’ recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
For the Bolognese:
- 500 g Ground beef
- 1 Onion
- 1 tsp Clarified butter
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 1 Can, small Chunky tomatoes
- 1 medium sized Carrot
- 250 ml Vegetables or meat broth
- 2 tbsp Italian herbs, frozen
- Salt pepper
- 1 pinch Sugar
Also:
- 400 g Penne or other pasta of your choice
- 1 Mozzarella cheese
- 1 pack Grated cheese, to taste
- Peel, wash and cut the carrot into small cubes. Peel and finely dice the onion.
- Heat the butter lard in a saucepan and fry the minced meat in it until crumbly, add the tomato paste and onion and sweat while stirring. Pour the chunky tomatoes and pour the vegetable or meat stock. Cook with the lid closed for about 20-25 minutes.
- In the meantime, cook the pasta according to the instructions on the packet, then drain.
- Season the Bolognese with salt and pepper, add sugar and stir in the herb mixture. Put aside.
- Preheat the oven to 200 ° C (top / bottom heat).
- Mix the pasta with the Bolognese well and place about half of it in a large, greasy baking dish. Cut the mozzarella into cubes and spread on top. Spread the rest of the Bolognese on top and sprinkle with grated cheese of your choice.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes.
- Mixed green salad with balsamic dressing tastes good with it.
