Pasta salad à la Nicki (grandma's style)

Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 1 pack of penne or fusilli
  • 1 ring/s meat sausage, smoked
  • n. B. Pickled gherkin(s), small
  • 1 can of vegetables (peas and carrots)
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • n. B. Pepper (to taste)
  • a little salt (to taste)
  • 5 tbsp mayonnaise (more if needed)

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

perfect for grilling

Cook the pasta in salted water for about 8-10 minutes until al dente, drain, and let cool. Meanwhile, chop the sausage and gherkins. Drain the liquid from the can of peas and carrots, chopping the carrots if necessary. Once the pasta has cooled, combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix. Then add the mayonnaise and vinegar, season to taste, and add salt (to taste—be careful not to add too much, as you’ll have already used vinegar) and pepper. For a healthier version, use turkey sausage.
