Pasta with cheese and basil sauce

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 250 g pasta
  • 1 small onion(s)
  • 1 pack of cream cheese spread
  • 1 cup of sweet cream
  • 1 tsp oil, for the pan
  • Basil (dried or freshly chopped)
  • marjoram
  • pepper
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Prepare the pasta according to the package instructions. Pasta that adheres well to sauces, such as spirelli, is best. While the pasta is cooking, dice the onion. Then sauté in hot oil until translucent and deglaze with 3/4 cup of sweet cream. Reduce the heat to low. Add about 2/3 of the cream cheese spread and let it melt slowly. If the cheese flavor isn’t strong enough for you, you can add the whole cup. Season the sauce generously with basil. Add just a little marjoram – be careful, the strong aroma of the marjoram can take away the basil flavor! Let the sauce simmer slightly. If it gets too thick, add a little more sweet cream. Just before the pasta is done, season with salt and pepper. Drain the pasta and let it drain well. Pour the sauce over the pasta immediately and mix well. Transfer to a plate and serve garnished with a basil leaf, if desired. It’s super quick and tastes simply amazing!
