Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 500 g cottage cheese (granular cream cheese)
- 2 onions
- 4 cloves garlic
- 5 tomatoes
- 1 small can of tomato paste
- 1 handful of basil leaves
- herbal salt
- Pepper, freshly ground
- chili powder
- 300 g pasta (e.g. bavette)
- olive oil
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
Cook the pasta al dente in salted water. Meanwhile, finely chop the onion and garlic and fry them in a high pan with a dash of olive oil until very hot. Remove the pan from the heat and stir the cottage cheese and tomato paste into the onions and garlic. Season with salt, pepper, and chili powder, hot or not so hot to taste (but be careful, the cottage cheese absorbs a lot of the heat, so don’t be too timid). Cut the tomatoes into eighths, add them just before serving along with a handful of basil leaves, and stir everything well. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and mix everything together. Done! Very low in calories, light, and super quick to prepare. Kids will love it too.
