Pasta with ham, herb and nut sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g pasta
  • salt water
  • 200 g cooked ham
  • 1 pack of herbs (e.g. basil or Italian), frozen or fresh
  • 200 ml whipped cream
  • 100 g hazelnuts, ground
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp oil

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

tastes good even without ham

Cook the pasta in salted water. Cut the ham into small cubes. Brown in a little oil or butter. Add the herbs. Gradually add the ground hazelnuts and toast them slightly, stirring constantly. Then, very slowly, add the cream, stirring constantly. Simmer briefly (very low heat), stirring constantly, as the hazelnuts will cause it to burn easily. Season with salt and pepper. Depending on your preferred consistency, you can use either more ground hazelnuts or more cream (or milk). Drain the pasta, and serve with the sauce.
