Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
Pizza dough made from spelt flour with minced meat topping
Warm the milk and beer slightly (lukewarm, in the microwave). Pour the dried yeast into the milk with a little sugar and let it rise until foamy. About 15 minutes! Then pour the mixture into the flour. Knead it with the olive oil and a little salt, gradually adding a little beer until you have a nice, not too dry, dough. Cover the pot (use a tea towel) and put it under the covers for about 30-45 minutes. Any other warm place will do, of course! While the dough is resting, you can prepare the topping! Briefly fry the onion with chili, then add the minced meat and fry until cooked through. Just towards the end, stir in the diced bell pepper and diced ham and let it rest! (Yeast dough made from spelt flour can vary slightly in the amount of yeast needed and the resting time, as the flour is a bit denser than regular wheat flour! But it’s considerably more flavorful.) Knead the risen dough again briefly with a little flour and divide into 4 balls! Then roll them out to pizza size! Top generously with pizza tomatoes and sprinkle with pizza seasoning to taste (other seasonings are also suitable, depending on your taste). Then sprinkle with pizza cheese! It already looks delicious, but it’s still missing something… spread the minced meat generously on top and sprinkle with some more cheese!! Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 20 minutes.
