Pear crumble

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 700 g pear(s)
  • 140 g flour
  • 60 g sugar
  • 80 g butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 80 g brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 small lemon(s), juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Peel the pears and cut them into small, bite-sized pieces. Since our pears were very hard, we boiled them in a little water for 5 minutes, but if you prefer a crunchy texture, you can skip this step. Put the flour, sugar, butter or margarine, and cinnamon in a bowl and knead until a nice crumble forms. Melt the brown sugar in a pan and then add the pears and honey, stirring constantly. Squeeze the lemon and add the juice. Continue stirring over low heat until the pears are nicely caramelized. Transfer the entire mixture to a baking dish, cover with the crumble, and bake for 25 minutes at 200°C (top/bottom heat) (approx. 180°C fan-assisted oven). Serve warm with custard, ice cream, or pudding, if desired.
