Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 pear(s), ripe
  • 1 lemon(s), the juice
  • 200 g sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 150 g dark chocolate coating
  • ½ liter ice cream, vanilla
  • ⅛ liter cream, whipped

Peel, halve, and core the pears. Place the lemon juice, sugar, split vanilla pod, and cinnamon stick in a large pan. Add 0.5 liters of water and bring to a boil. Place the pears cut-side down in the pan and simmer for 12-15 minutes, drizzling with the cooking liquid occasionally. Remove the pears from the liquid and let them cool. Melt the chocolate coating in a bain-marie. Divide the vanilla ice cream among dessert plates, arrange two pear halves on each plate, pour the hot chocolate coating over the top, and serve with a dollop of whipped cream.
