Pear jam with poppy seeds

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1,150 g sugar
  • 1 pack of Gelfix, 1:1
  • 1 kg pear(s), peeled, weighed
  • 50 ml lemon juice
  • 30 g poppy seeds, freshly ground
  • ½ bottle of bitter almond flavoring or 50 ml Amaretto

Instructions

Working time approx. 50 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Mix Gelfix with 150g of sugar in a saucepan. Add the peeled pears, bitter almond extract, and lemon juice. Grind the poppy seeds fresh in a coffee grinder or use a ready-made mix and add it. Bring the ingredients to a boil and add the remaining sugar. Bring back to a boil and simmer for 4 minutes. Test the gel and bottle if the consistency is right.
