Pear puree in a jar

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 kg pear(s), cleaned, peeled, chopped
  • 100 ml apple juice
  • 1 vanilla pod(s), pulp
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 200 g sugar, depending on the sweetness of the pears

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

ideal for storing food, cakes, desserts or snacks

Peel, core, and quarter the pears, then place them in lemon or vinegar water until ready to use. This will prevent them from turning brown. Then cut the pears into pieces. Remove the pears from the water and place them in a saucepan with the other ingredients and boil until soft. You can use more than 200g of sugar, depending on your taste. When the pears are soft, puree everything using a hand blender or food processor. I prefer to use a hand blender, as this keeps the ingredients in the pan and piping hot when pouring. While still piping hot, pour the mixture into well-cleaned twist-off jars and seal. Boil the lids for at least 5 minutes beforehand. If necessary, turn the jars upside down 5 minutes after filling.
