Ingredients for 8 servings:

  • 1 liter of milk
  • 250 g rice pudding
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 8 tbsp sugar
  • 4 pears, slightly ripe
  • some butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Rice pudding with pears and vanilla

Bring the milk to a boil with the scraped vanilla pod, rice pudding, and 6 tablespoons of sugar. Cover the pan and simmer for 25-30 minutes over low heat. Meanwhile, peel and chop the pears, then caramelize them in a saucepan with the remaining sugar and butter. Serve both together and enjoy warm or cold. Semolina can be used instead of rice pudding for an even more delicate flavor. This recipe is medium-sweet—for those who want a little extra flavor.
