Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 250 g pearl barley
- 100 g lentils
- 1 onion(s)
- 1 small can of tomatoes
- some vegetable broth
- 3 tbsp tomato paste
- n. B. Herbs, Italian
- e.g. salt and pepper
- chili powder
- Oil for frying
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour
Cook the pearl barley and lentils in salted water according to the package instructions until almost tender. Meanwhile, dice the onion and fry in oil. Add the tomato paste. Deglaze with the tomatoes and a little vegetable stock. Simmer. When the pearl barley and lentils are cooked, add them to the tomato sauce. Stir and season to taste.
