Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 150 g flour
  • 60 g lard (no butter or margarine)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 375 ml syrup, light or dark
  • 50 g butter or margarine
  • 100 g sugar
  • 200 g nuts, half pecans
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Make the batter and pour it into a springform pan. Bring the syrup, butter, and sugar to a boil, simmer gently for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, and let cool. Sprinkle the nuts on the batter. Mix the eggs, vanilla sugar, and salt, then add the cooled syrup mixture. Pour the mixture over the nuts. Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C for approximately 35-40 minutes.
