Perfectly poached egg

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 liter of water
  • 1 tbsp vinegar

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 minute; Cooking/baking time approx. 3 minutes; Total time approx. 4 minutes

idiot-proof

Pierce the egg as usual, on one or both sides. Bring a liter of water and the vinegar to a boil. Then place the egg, shell on, into the boiling water for 10-20 seconds. Remove the egg and reduce the heat. The water should no longer be bubbling, but just simmering. Now crack the egg open and carefully lower it into the water. 2.5-3 minutes later, you’ll have a perfectly poached egg, which you can then fish out of the water with a slotted spoon. Sounds easy? It is! In the picture, you can see my very first attempt at a poached egg, and it worked perfectly the first time.
