Petra's walnut cake

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 150 g chocolate, whole milk
  • 150 g ground walnuts
  • 150 g flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • 150 g butter, soft
  • 150 g sugar
  • 4 m.-sized eggs, separated
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 250 g cake icing, dark
  • 100 g walnuts, halves
  • Fat, for the shape
  • Flour , for the shape

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

for 12 pieces

Finely grate the chocolate and mix with the walnuts. Mix the flour with the baking powder and cinnamon. Beat the butter and sugar with the whisk of a hand mixer until very light and fluffy, then gradually stir in the egg yolks. First stir in the chocolate-nut mixture, then the flour mixture. Beat the egg whites with the salt until stiff, then stir in 1/3 of the mixture, then fold in the remaining egg whites evenly. Grease and flour a 26cm springform pan, pour in the batter and smooth it down. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C on the second rack from the bottom for 50-60 minutes. Place the pan on a wire rack for about 10 minutes, then remove the ring and let the cake cool completely on the rack. Melt the cake glaze according to the package instructions and spread it evenly over the cake. Cover tightly with walnut halves and allow the glaze to set.
