The perfect pita breads recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 gr Flour
  • 1 Pk Dry yeast
  • 300 ml Water cold
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Black cumin for sprinkling
  1. Put all ingredients in a bowl and knead into a dough.
  2. Let the dough rise in a warm place covered for about an hour.
  3. When the dough has risen, knead it again vigorously.
  4. Shape it into a roll and cut into 8 parts.
  5. Roll into balls and cover again and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
  6. Press the risen balls flat and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Brush with water and pour the black cumin on top.
  7. Bake the flat cakes for about 25 minutes at 190 ° top / bottom heat until golden brown. The baking time depends on the oven and the size of the cakes.
  8. I fill the flatbreads with gyros, minced meat, falafel or whatever else “flies around” in the kitchen. But also tastes just like that or with something grilled.
