Pita Breads
The perfect pita breads recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 500 gr Flour
- 1 Pk Dry yeast
- 300 ml Water cold
- 1 tsp Salt
- Black cumin for sprinkling
- Put all ingredients in a bowl and knead into a dough.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place covered for about an hour.
- When the dough has risen, knead it again vigorously.
- Shape it into a roll and cut into 8 parts.
- Roll into balls and cover again and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- Press the risen balls flat and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Brush with water and pour the black cumin on top.
- Bake the flat cakes for about 25 minutes at 190 ° top / bottom heat until golden brown. The baking time depends on the oven and the size of the cakes.
- I fill the flatbreads with gyros, minced meat, falafel or whatever else “flies around” in the kitchen. But also tastes just like that or with something grilled.
