Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 300 g wheat flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 packet of dry yeast
- 3 tsp pizza seasoning
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 170 ml water, lukewarm
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes
crispy – thin or juicy – soft
Mix flour, salt, dry yeast, and pizza seasoning in a large bowl. Add olive oil and water and knead with a dough hook until you have an elastic dough that starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl. Cover and let rise in a warm place (e.g., in an oven at 40°C) for one hour, until the dough has increased in size significantly. Briefly knead the dough on a floured surface and roll it out to any size. This dough is enough for one baking sheet or two large, round pizzas. The dough can be rolled out very thinly to create a crispy base. If you prefer a moist, soft American-style pizza base, leave the dough a little thicker and just press it into place. Both work wonderfully with this dough. Now top with tomato sauce, vegetables, fruit, salami, cooked ham, tuna, and cheese to your heart’s content. If desired, refine with spices such as thyme, oregano, chili, or garlic, and bake for 15-18 minutes at 190°C. Tip: If you’re planning on adding a generous amount of topping to your pizza, you can pre-bake the base for about 5 minutes and then add the toppings. This way, the pizza won’t be as soggy later and will still stay crispy.
