Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 500 g flour
- 40 g yeast
- 80 g powdered sugar
- 80 g butter or margarine
- 2 dl milk
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
- 3 eggs
- some lemon peel
- Plum jam (Powidl)
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes
Dissolve yeast in warm milk, add 50g of flour, stir until smooth, dust with flour, cover, and let rise in a warm place (steam). Melt butter. Mix all ingredients with a food processor or a wooden spoon until a smooth dough forms, until the dough pulls away from the edges. Cover and let rest for 20 minutes. Divide the dough into three pieces, roll each out, spread with plum jam, and roll up again. Braid the resulting strands into a plait and let rise again. Brush with butter and bake at 175°C until the plait turns a nice brown color.
