Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g beef, pork or lamb
- 500 g carrot(s)
- 300 g onion(s)
- 500 g rice
- 150 g oil
- Salt

Russian stew
Chop the meat into small pieces. Slice the carrots and onions into thin strips. Rinse the rice thoroughly with warm water. Heat the oil and stir-fry the meat. Season with salt, add the onions, and cook for 15 minutes. Add the rice, place the carrots on top, and add enough boiling salted water to come about 2.5 cm above the rice and carrots. Cook the stew in a covered pan for 30 minutes.
