Plum and cinnamon sauce

Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 2 glasses of plum(s)
  • Cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 vanilla pod(s), including the pulp
  • n. B. cornstarch
  • some water, cold
  • e.g. bitter almond flavor or a little Amaretto

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Set aside a few plums and chop them finely. Purée the remaining plums with their juice, sugar, and vanilla sugar in a saucepan, then bring to a boil. Mix cornstarch with cold water and add to the boiling plum puree to thicken. Stir well. Remove the pan from the heat. Add the vanilla bean paste and Amaretto or almond flavoring and season to taste. Add the plum pieces and stir gently. Served warm, it tastes delicious with buttermilk waffles or ice cream.
