Plum dumplings

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g low-fat curd cheese
  • 50 g butter, soft
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 250 g flour
  • 15 plums
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • breadcrumbs
  • butter
  • cinnamon sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Using a dough hook, make a tough dough from quark, butter, egg, flour, a pinch each of salt and sugar. Cut the plums lengthwise and pit them, then stuff them with a sugar cube if desired (I don’t do this because it’s too sweet for me). Take 1-2 tablespoons of the dough and coat each plum with it, making sure the plum is well wrapped. Boil water in a large pot, add the dumplings, and let it sit over medium heat for 8 minutes. Toast the breadcrumbs in butter and sprinkle over the dumplings, then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Tip: The amount can vary depending on the size of the plums. I’ve made 14-20 dumplings from the same amount of dough. This recipe also works with cherries, but you’ll need more of it.
