Plum-Orange Marmalade

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 700 g plum(s)
  • 300 g orange(s) or tangerines
  • 1 tsp gingerbread spice OR
  • ½ tsp cinnamon and
  • 1 pinch of clove(s)
  • 1 pack of gelling sugar, 2:1

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Wash the plums, quarter them, remove the stones and either chop them finely or blend them finely in a blender. If you like chunky jam, you can of course chop the plums coarsely. Peel the oranges and also chop them finely or blend them finely in a blender. Put the plums and oranges in a saucepan and season with gingerbread spice OR with cinnamon and a little clove powder. Now add the gelling sugar, bring to a boil and simmer for a good 4 minutes, stirring constantly. Rinse 4 jars (each holding 350 ml) or 3 jars (each holding 400 ml) with boiling water and fill with the boiling hot jam. Screw the lids on tightly and turn the jars upside down for 10 minutes. Then put them back on their normal position and label them if desired. Store the jam in a dark, cool place. It tastes delicious and the spices give it a slightly Christmassy feel.
