an old family tradition
For the soup, wash and pit the plums. Bring to a boil with water, sugar, and cinnamon. Simmer over low heat for about 1/2 hour. Sprinkle in the sago and let it swell over low heat for 20 minutes. For the plums, mix together the flour, eggs, vanilla sugar, salt, and milk. Drop the dough into the boiling water with two teaspoons. The plums will rise to the surface once they’re ready. Add the plums to the soup. If desired, sweeten the soup to your liking.
